Accessibility statement

Curve Radio is committed to making its website and online station as accessible and welcoming as reasonably possible. We aim to work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.2, at level AA.

What the website currently provides

• a skip link for keyboard and screen-reader users;
• keyboard-accessible navigation;
• a volume slider that can be operated by keyboard;
• keyboard controls for mute and full volume;
• visible keyboard focus indicators;
• meaningful image descriptions;
• layouts that adapt to smaller screens; and
• support for reduced-motion preferences.

Automatic playback

The station is designed to start playing automatically where a browser permits it. Some browsers block automatic audio and will require the listener to interact with the page first. Volume controls are provided in the header. We recognise that automatic audio can be difficult for some users and will continue reviewing how best to balance accessibility with the station's listening experience.

Known limitations

Curve Radio does not currently provide transcripts for every live or recorded programme. Music and unscripted broadcasts may therefore not be fully accessible to people who cannot hear the audio.

As a small independent project, Curve Radio cannot promise that every requested alternative format will be available immediately. Reasonable requests will be considered individually.

Curve Radio aims to acknowledge accessibility reports within seven calendar days.
