Our approach

Curve Radio wants presenters, volunteers and community members to be treated with dignity and respect. Disability does not automatically make a person vulnerable, but some adults may face additional risks or need support to communicate safely online.

Curve Radio operates online. Interaction is normally limited to presenter setup, scheduling, technical support and participation in public or community Discord conversations. Curve Radio does not provide personal care, medical support, counselling or in-person services.

Age requirement

Presenter and volunteer roles are limited to adults aged 18 or over. Curve Radio does not knowingly recruit children or invite them to take part as presenters, volunteers or guests.

Expected behaviour

• Communicate respectfully and avoid harassment, discrimination, threats or sexual misconduct.
• Respect boundaries and do not pressure anyone to disclose private information.
• Keep technical support relevant to the station and never request passwords unnecessarily.
• Do not exploit another person's disability, finances, trust or dependence.
• Report credible concerns rather than attempting a personal investigation.
• Follow Discord's rules as well as Curve Radio's community expectations.

Reporting a concern

Email curveradio@outlook.com with the subject line Safeguarding concern. Include what happened, when it happened, who may be at risk and any immediate action already taken. Do not circulate sensitive details unnecessarily.

What happens after a report

The Curve Radio operator will review the concern, take proportionate steps to protect community members, preserve relevant information and decide whether a platform provider, emergency service or appropriate authority should be contacted. Confidentiality cannot be guaranteed where someone may be at serious risk or disclosure is required by law.
